Each workshop will last for 2 ½ hours, before any work is completed on the torch there will be a short introduction to include the very important aspect of safety while using our torches.
The instructor will then demonstrate lighting torch, sitting position and making a bead.
Students will then make a bead using winding method (Disc Method/Fast & Furious.), Making basic donut bead / Round Bead. Plus, Bad bead fix, Pear shaped bead, avoiding Sharp edges and ‘What tools and when’ .
Intermediate levels will cover more advanced techniques, specifically Bead decoration with dots, stacked dots, multi-level dots, poked dots, twisted dots and rainbow beads, triangle beads, stinger decoration plus, how to pull stringers.

Suitable for complete beginners or those with some previous torch experience.
An introductory session. Participants will learn the basic skills, principles and techniques needed to create simple bluebells and daisy like flowers.
Intermediate session. Follow on course- recapping on the above plus additional techniques, for learning how to create more complex flower forms, such as daffodils and snowdrops..

Lampwork - Figurative Sculpture in Soft Glass

Previous torch experience desirable, but not essential.
A three hour session introducing some of the basic principles of working 'off mandrel' with soda lime glass to create figurative sculptural forms directly from the imagination. Learn how the hot glass is manipulated using simple tools and techniques.
This course is aimed at aspiring artists and serious students who wish to begin their own sculptural journey.
Intermediate session- follow on course, focussing on creating a full figure in soft glass and how to engage with the technical and aesthetic challenges of this demanding artform.
